Astro Bot Free Update Adds New Levels, Bots, And A Ps5 Pro Boost
Astro Bot is quite literally this year’s best game yet, and it being a single-player platformer makes it all the more special. It checks all the boxes of being a complete package with its visuals, story, value, audio design, and most importantly, gameplay. The game is worth every dollar that it costs, and everyone that owns a PS5 should look to try this game out. Hopefully this game convinces Sony to revive their older IPs and even look to create more amazing single player experiences such as this. Astro Bot is an action and platformer game for the PlayStation 5 which features Astro. Jump on your Dual Speeder and explore tons of planets, and meet up with iconic PlayStation characters across the game.
The last one is a secret that you’ll want to uncover yourself. Of course, this new DLC won’t be complete without new bots to save. It does but that’s just recycling mechanics or aspects from those games, it’s not that original, it doesn’t fill in gaps those games don’t offer either regardless of platformer then horror, RPG or open world contexts. I will sound old, but kids today don’t understand how games like these would probably create much better gaming experiences and fun memories than most modern, grindy, live service trash. 10/10 — OutstandingThe pinnacle of a given genre at the time of release, these titles raise the bar in virtually all critical categories. You can be sure that a game awarded this score has the highest quality presentation and expertly honed gameplay, but also breaks boundaries and pushes the industry forward in a meaningful manner.
Climb up the snowball, pull the wire, and activate the vacuum device. Suck up all the ice blocks and head inside the tropical oasis to find the disco ball. Activate it to use the secret exit and unlock the Turtles in Trash level in the Lost Galaxy. Instead of leaping to the boss fight, approach the large snowball that’s being nurtured by two penguins — after you defeat all the enemies. Grab the snowball from them and roll it around until it gets nice and big.
How Many Bots Are There To Collect In Astro Bot?
Astro Bot plays like a dream thanks to its ultra precise movement. Part of its secret weapon is Astro’s hover jump, which lets him float in the air a bit longer before landing. I never lose my momentum because of a mistimed jump and can usually recover if I misjudge a spinning platform’s trajectory. In addition to a punch and spin attack, the jets from my boosters can fry enemies below me.
Defeat the enemies, fill yourself up with water, and take the right, destroying the wall with the sponges. The secret exit in Downsize Surprise is close to the end of the level. Proceed through the level like normal until you reach the large mountain. As you climb up using your monkey backpack, you’ll see a map carved on a wall with a red X near the skull. The secret exit in Creamy Canyon is relatively early in the level. This was actually my favorite level of the game, and that’s saying something.
Feel every hop, punch and crack through your DualSense wireless controller. After acquiring the balloon power-up, backtrack to the previous platform and float to the opposite side. In the beginning of the stage, immediately knock out the ladybug and use it as a trampoline to get onto the pillar to the left, the puzzle piece will be found here. After getting the balloon power up from the huge robot, immediately use it to get to the robot’s head to find the hidden bot. Astro Bot is a love letter to not just the history of PlayStation but gaming as a whole. Yes, Astro Bot stands on its own as an undoubtedly solid platforming adventure, but what elevates it above that is the Super Smash Bros.-style set dressing that can be found all over.
The game currently holds a 4.89 out of 5 stars with over 31,000 ratings on the PSN Store. Octo-Balloon is another power-up that is flight-based although the functionality is quite different. Players can inflate themselves to float upward, sort of like the Power Balloon power-up in Super Mario World. Like that game, players can extend their time in the air with certain recharge points. Finally, players can defeat certain enemies by plugging their Octo-Balloon pipe into their mouths and blowing them up instead. It’s a slower-moving power-up but the Octo-Balloon is part of some engaging levels like the first one called Sky Garden in Astro Bot.
Every Planet In Astro Bot (all Stages List)
Other than these gameplay examples, the special bots in the game also have unique and special animations that you can unlock in the game’s Gacha Lab, which adds even more personality to the already amazing-looking models. But where the real brilliance of Astro Bot becomes apparent is in the worlds themselves, which constantly add unique features, gimmicks, and mechanics, but integrally those all build off those core foundations of gameplay. In one, you hit switches that change the level between night and day, changing the entire layout at the same time. In AF88 , you shrink into a tiny mouse, seeing things from a whole new perspective and opening up wild new solutions to puzzles. Past that, another level has you growing flowers to make your way up an ascending staircase of giant pots. There are musicals to play through, obstacle courses, giant robots to resurrect, and more.
Chocolate death pipes and fizzy lifting drinks are instead swapped out for sinkholes leading to treasure and an inflatable friend who helps you reach floating platforms. Astro is revived by his Dual Speeder, a smaller spaceship resembling the DualSense controller, and together they begin reactivating satellites and exploring galaxies to rescue the crew and rebuild the mothership. Along the way, he rescues V.I.P. Bots (guest characters from other games) and explores planets based on Ape Escape, God of War, Uncharted, LocoRoco, and Horizon. Each one of these colorful worlds is crafted with meticulous detail and creativity. The Sponge appears in the Bathhouse Battle stage of Astro Bot and has similar powers to the Elephant.
Astro Bot is a showcase for the DualSense’s bells and whistles unlike anything since, well… Triggers tighten in your fingers and rumbles are sent through your thumbs. I found my whole body involuntarily drifting from side to side as I guided Astro’s ship with the motion controls. I’d also recommend turning your controller speaker volume up if, like me, you have it muted by default – you’ll be missing out on some fantastic audio flourishes otherwise. And while there’s nothing to quite rival the GPU earworm of four years ago (despite the best efforts of a giant singing tree), the music is a consistent delight throughout.
The door to the ruin will now open, and you’ll see the disco ball floating above. When you see the arrow appear above the seal, let the pig fly. Use the ladybug to reach where the seal used to be and use your charged melee to dig into the pillar. In this Astro Bot guide, we’ll walk you through how to find all secret exits and how to unlock the 11th secret level in the Lost Galaxy. @AhmadSumadi We were waiting for the price of this 1 to come down as well, $50 or $60, whatever it was, seemed like way too much for us for a 12 hour game. Fortunately it was on sale for $40 most places this past Black Friday – I’m in the US – and it was basically the only thing on my kids gift list.
